Location details page - Consumption

Updated over a week ago

The Consumption tab on the Location Details page shows a location's utility consumption over time. This is done using interactive graphs that display both actual and estimated consumption.

This component is located at:
Locations → select a location → Consumptions tab

Overview – What does this tab show?

The Consumption tab shows one or more graphs with consumption data for selected:

  • utility service types, such as electricity, gas, heating or water

  • units, such as kWh or m³

Main features:

  • interactive chart with detailed and aggregated views

  • support for multiple services simultaneously

  • adjustable date range

  • aggregation by day, month or year

  • display of estimated consumption next to actual consumption in aggregations

Actions

Users can:

  • adjust the date range

  • enable or disable service types

  • select frequency (all - year - month - day)

  • compare between periods in monthly and annual view

  • Export location and consumption data via the export action

Not possible from this tab:

  • manually enter consumption data

  • correct measurements

  • manually adjust estimates

Data sources

Consumption data is based on:

  • measured values from meters

  • calculated consumption between successive measurements

The system:

  • collects measurements per location

  • calculates consumption per period

  • groups data on demand by day, month or year

  • shows estimated future consumption in aggregations

Aggregation

In aggregation:

  • individual data points are merged

  • the sum of consumption is shown per period

  • values are rounded to a specified precision

Example:

  • month of January: sum of all daily values within that month

  • month of February: separate sum for that period

Comparison mode

For monthly and annual aggregation:

  • comparison mode can be activated

  • multiple periods are displayed next to each other

Problem

Solution

Only estimated values visible

There is no effective measurement data yet

Unexpected jumps in graph

Check meter changes or corrections

Data missing for some periods

No measurements are available

Consumption tab not visible

Check location and consumption rights

Graph remains blank

Check for meters and measurements

Values change over time

Measurements may have been corrected

Rights & Access

To access the Consumption tab you need:

  • reading rights at locations

  • reading rights on consumption data

Users without these rights:

  • don't see the tab

  • do not have access to consumption information

There is no functional difference between the platform and the customer portal, only based on the assigned rights.

Why do I see estimated values?
Aggregation shows predictions next to actual values.

Can I compare different periods?
Yes, via the comparison mode in monthly or yearly view.

Why do historical values change?
Measurement values may have been corrected or recalculated after new data.
