Curious what Blazor, beta, and interface mean exactly? We're happy to explain:
Blazor: Blazor is the project name for Zero Friction's new layout. You'll soon get a fresh, improved interface that will make your experience even more efficient.
The interface, or frontend, is simply what Zero Friction looks like and how you interact with it.
The backend processes your data.
The frontend shows that data visually.
The Blazor migration will mainly change the appearance of your environment, but your data will remain unchanged.
Beta: A beta is a trial version that's almost finished but still being tested. Why should you get early access?
Your feedback helps us detect and fix minor bugs faster before the official launch.
What does this mean to you?
The interface you're using will soon look a little different.
This update delivers a faster, more intuitive experience and prepares Zero Friction for future improvements.
At this moment you can choose:
š Stick with the current interface, or
š Switch to the new Blazor interface and instantly discover new possibilities.
You can always switch back to the old interface if you prefer.
Because a new environment can sometimes take some getting used to, we've put everything together so you can get started quickly. š
How to switch?
This can be done very easily by adjusting the URL you use to surf to Zero Friction.
For example:
The URL heat.zerofriction.co/demo/heu will now be app.zerofriction.co/demo/heu
š”Bookmark the new URL to always use the new interface

Features
Navigating in Zero Friction
The Dashboard
The dashboard now has its own button in the navigation bar on the right side of the screen. This makes it easier for you to always return to the overall overview.
The Navigation Bar
The navigation bar has also been updated. It's now expandable. Not sure which icon to click? The navigation bar slides open to show you the entire entity.
Location groups
There's no longer a button in the navigation bar for location groups. You can now find it under Locations, where you can customize the display to location groups.
Jobs
We've also freed up some space by combining import and export jobs under one name: jobs. This way, everything is neat and organized.
Tasks become moving requests
You will no longer see the "Tasks" button in Zero Friction. This is where all move-in and move-out requests were displayed, and will therefore be called "move-in requests" from now on for clarity.
Dark mode
Want to give your eyes a break? Set your Zero Friction environment to Dark Mode by navigating to your initials in the top right corner and clicking on them. The Dark Mode slider will now be visible.
The list pages
Action buttons
Looking for the Action button? Try clicking on a few items.
From now on, specific actions will appear when you make a certain selection in your list view
Are you performing a bulk action? Then you'll see that Zero Friction indicates how many rows the action can be performed on.
General actions such as adding a customer, location, contract, or meter are now always listed at the top, with a second-tier action next to it.
On the detail pages of items in your list overview, you'll find a breakdown of the buttons with a general action and more specific options.
Filters
Turning on a filter? Now you can easily see how many filters you have activated.
Activity feed
Activity feed changes are now organized with the most recent action at the top. You'll also now see the full date the action was performed.
Customer balance
Customer balances are now displayed more clearly in different colors, providing better insight into the customer's debit or credit status.
Location management
From now on, you can edit a location's address by clicking on it. You can also delete locations that aren't linked to anything by clicking on "Actions."
Billing details of your contracts
For contracts, you can find an overview of the billing period with estimated invoices in the Billing Details tab.
The side panel with invoice information will also have a PDF tab from now on, where you can call up the invoice.
If the invoice status is still pending or if there is missing information, you will see the side panel displaying "Estimated Invoice". If the invoice has been generated, the tab in the side panel will be called Invoice.
Further updates
Better indication of what input is still missing
Inc/excl VAT is now shown
PDF will be automatically displayed after generation
Configuration
Your Zero Friction account settings are now easier to configure, thanks to the improved interface. The new, clear list makes it easy to find all the configuration screens.
You'll see that the general settings for a category now fall under the Preferences heading. This allows you to personalize your Zero Friction account to your liking.
An overview of the most important changes
Billing
The "Invoicing" tab has now become a separate category in the list view, which houses billing preferences and all product-related settings.
Some preferences from the "Billing" tab have been moved to the Billing or Payments categories.
Products
The product navigation has been removed. Everything related to products can now be found in the "Invoicing" category.
New layout: We now use tables instead of clickable cards, but the concept remains the same.
The dialog for adding invoice items has been simplified:
Setting the period is now done in the right column.
The order of billing items can be set directly in the billing items list.
Rates are easier to configure because the separate editor page has been removed; everything is now done in the right-hand column. You can also now export, edit, and import rates.
Payments
Several preferences from Configuration > Billing have been moved here. For example, you can now find direct debit settings under Payments.
The preferences have been redesigned with more information per setting.
Metering
Meter validations can now be found as a map under "Preferences".
Communication
Preview scenarios of invoices
This feature allows you to preview invoices in various scenarios before sending them out. This way, you'll immediately know what an invoice will look like if, for example, the customer still has an outstanding balance in their favor.
Now when you go to Configuration>Communication>Templates, you can click on āChangeā for invoices under PDF.
This will take you to the preview of an invoice. Here you can set up different scenarios, which will be displayed immediately in the preview. You can also easily switch between invoice types and between PDF and email at the top.
