Manage services on location & contract

With Manage services, you can now edit yourself which services are active on a location or contract - including in bulk for several at once. Added the wrong service, missed one, or does a contract no longer match what you're actually billing? Fix it right away, without creating a new location or contract.

For a single location or contract, use its detail page. To update several at once, use the bulk action from the list view - it shows you which services are on which locations before you confirm, so you know the impact upfront.

Add a service to a contract, and the linked location updates automatically. Billing only starts once the product actually covers that service. So a service can correctly appear on the contract even if billing for it isn't active yet.

Already-billed services aren't simply removed: existing invoices stay unchanged. Remove a service from a contract, and it's marked "unsupplied" on the location - rather than disappearing entirely.

The result: faster corrections, without unnecessary location or contract recreation, while keeping your billing history accurate.

SEPA XML 2019

Zero Friction now also supports the new SEPA XML format (version 2019), alongside the existing 2009 version. The new format aligns with European standardisation and supports structured address information.

There's nothing you need to configure. This keeps you compatible without worry, even if your bank eventually phases out the older version.

Auto-solve for meter reset readings

With the "Automatically resolve missing reset readings" setting, Zero Friction now resolves missing or incorrect readings at a meter's reset moment for you. Is a zero reading missing at reset, or does a non-zero value come in exactly then? Zero Friction fills it in automatically during the nightly validation check.

You can enable automatic resolution for two situations:

  • When a non-zero value comes in exactly at the reset moment. Zero Friction replaces it with a zero reading - if you enter such a reading manually yourself, you'll see a warning, but you can still save it; Zero Friction then corrects it to zero afterwards.

  • When no zero reading comes in at the reset moment. Missing zero readings are filled in during the nightly validation check.

Both are off by default, so your current process only changes once you turn them on yourself.

Auto-added or auto-replaced readings are labelled "system-generated meter reset" and can't be edited - this keeps the reset point accurate for your consumption calculations. You can still delete one.

The result: less manual meter-checking, and invoices that go out with accurate consumption.

Percentage-based advance billing

You can now spread advances unevenly across the year - for example a lighter advance in the summer months and a heavier one in another quarter - instead of the same fixed amount every period. You set the percentage of the estimated annual invoice yourself, per period, per contract. Each advance is also broken down per billing line - for example consumption, subscribed power, and surtaxes separately - instead of a single lump sum.

Want to use this? Turn it on via Configuration → Billing → Preferences and open the default values.

Time of Use

With Time of Use, you set your own peak and off-peak rates (or another split, like day/night) for the same consumption. You create the rate types yourself, then split usage either through a calendar you link in bulk to a location group, or directly per meter channel when your meter already provides it that way.
