Workflow
Measurement data can be imported in Zero Friction in 2 ways:
The user can manually upload a file that contains the measurement data of multiple meters. The supported file format is configured in the configuration settings menu under Import jobs > File formats. At the import jobs list page, the user can upload this file and subsequently process it using the Upload and Trigger actions. After the processing is finished, the user can open the new list entry and check if all measurements are linked correctly with the corresponding meters.
The second way of importing measurement data is by using an automatic upload process via ftp, ftps, sftp, or an inbound e-mail. You can fully configure this process in the configuration settings under Import jobs > Data providers. You can also specify if the data should be only uploaded or also be processed automatically. This way, no further user intervention is needed.
Any errors that might occur during processing are easily visible on the import job's detail page. A graph is shown that gives a quick overview on how many readings were linked correctly and how many couldn't be linked. Browsing the measurement list will show an exclamation mark before the meter serialnumber if an error has occured. Hovering the exclamation mark will show the reason of failure.
An error might occur when the file contains measurements of a meter not installed in Zero Friction. The user thus has to install the meter and reprocess the data. A misconfigured meter with wrong channels or wrong unit of measurement can also be a cause of errors. Reconfiguring the meter will solve this issue and the data can be processed correctly.
