Data retention

Updated over a year ago

Introduction

Entities within Zero Friction might have a deviating lifetime, after which this data will be deleted. Unless mentioned otherwise, the default entity data retention period is 5 years. After this period, the data will be deleted. The period is calculated by the creation date + 5 years.

Note: Although data retention limits apply, these might not (yet) be enforced. Even when not enforced, Zero Friction provides no availability guarantee after the defined retention period.

Master data entities

All master data entities have a retention period of unlimited, meaning, no master data entities are deleted automatically. Master data entity examples are:

  • Contracts

  • Customers

  • Meters

  • Service Locations

Billing entities

All billing entities have a retention period of unlimited, with the exception of invoices, which are deleted after 5 years. Invoice PDFs are deleted after 7 years.

Imports

All imports have a retention period of 45 days after which the import data (flat files + logs) are deleted.

Metering data

Service consumption is stored for 5 years. After 2 years, service consumption with a data frequency higher than daily, might be aggregated to one daily value. Any metering consumption or measurements have a data retention period of 3 years. After this period, they will be deleted.

Integration logging

All webhook logs (processed and unprocessed) + all associated mapping entries are deleted after 65 days.

Communication entries

All communication entries (sent emails, PDF send logs, ...) have a retention period of 5 years. This includes flat-files.
