Location Group Details Page - Settings

The Settings tab on a location group's details page determines how the location group is used in communications, billing, and management. These settings apply to all locations within the group and can override the organization's default settings.

You can find this tab via:
Locations → Location groups → select a location group → Settings


Overview – What does the Settings tab show?

The Settings tab consists of six separate configuration cards:

  • General

  • Contact details

  • Logo and colors

  • Standard relationships

  • Billing standards

  • Consumption groups

Each card can be saved independently.


Layout

General

Contains basic data of the location group:

  • Company name

  • VAT number

  • Company account number

  • Business address

These fields can:

  • values ​​inherit from the organization

  • or use an own value at the group level

Changes affect:

  • invoices

  • official communication

  • documents linked to the location group


Contact details

Contains contact information:

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Website

  • Troubleshooting telephone number

  • Support email (read-only, originating from organization)

All fields except support email can inherit from the organization.


Logo & colors

Determines the visual style of communication:

  • Primary color scheme

  • Secondary color scheme

  • Logo (maximum 15 MB)

If not overwritten:

  • the organization settings are used

  • reset buttons allow return to organizational settings


Standard relationships

Sets default relationships for locations within the group:

  • Owner

  • Manager

These relationships:

  • will be automatically applied to new locations in the group

  • can be left blank if not applicable


Billing details

Determines how billing is done for all locations in the group:

  • Advance payment frequency
    None, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual

  • Billing frequency
    Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, Annual

  • Product
    Standard product for invoicing

  • Invoice day
    Day of the month
    Month only applicable for annual billing

  • Company account
    Account number for payments

  • Note to the customer
    Optional message on invoices
    Supports multiple languages

These settings:

  • apply to all locations in the group

  • are used when creating new contracts and invoices


Consumption groups

Includes consumer groups by utility service:

  • Electricity

  • Gas

  • Water

  • Other types if configured

Consumer groups are used for:

  • consumption estimate

  • forecasting

  • calculation of advances when measurement data is missing


Actions

Users with appropriate rights can:

  • adjust settings per card

  • save changes per card

  • cancel changes before saving

  • reset settings to organization settings via the reset button


Behaviors & Logic

Inheritance of organizational settings

  • When a field has the same value as the organization, it is inherited

  • In case of deviation, the location group uses its own value

  • A reset button appears whenever a field deviates

Example:

  • Organization VAT = NL123456789B01

  • Location group VAT = NL123456789B01 → inheritance

  • Location group VAT = NL987654321B02 → own value

Locations do not have a standard owner/manager

Large logo upload

Upload is rejected above 15 MB

Reset button not visible

Only new invoices are affected

Check validation and required fields


Why don't I see a reset button?
The value is identical to the organization setting.

What happens if I delete an assigned customer?
The relationship is deleted and must be re-established.

Can I use different billing settings per location?
No, default settings apply to the entire location group.

Why can't I change my support email?
This is centrally managed at the organizational level.

What happens if I change my billing frequency?
New invoices will follow the new frequency. Existing invoices will remain unchanged.

Can I translate the note for the customer?
Yes, via the translation function next to the field.


  • Location group
    Grouping of service locations for management and billing.

    Default values ​​that can be inherited by location groups.

    Use of organization settings at location group level.

  • Override
    Custom value at location group level that replaces organization settings.

  • Advance Frequency
    Frequency of advance payments.

  • Invoice Frequency
    Frequency at which invoices are created.

  • Consumer group
    Consumption pattern used for estimating and forecasting.

  • Management relations
    Relationships between customers and locations, such as owner and manager.
