About navigating the Meter Overview

In the Meter overview you can switch between the overview of 'Meters', 'Problems' and the overview of 'Import'.

Under Meters, you can also create a new meter by clicking "+ Add Meter." You can export measurements using a time period by clicking "Export All Measurements." You can also add a measurement reading by clicking "More."

In summary, this overview is intended to manage meters, problems and imports, quickly find data and keep an overview of meter information and status.

Meters

In the Meter Overview you have a search and filter bar.

This contains:

  • A search field to quickly find specific meters.

  • For Meters Only: Status-based filters, such as "All", "Installed", and "Inactive".

  • Meter model: multi-select of meter models, shown as brand + name. While this filter is active, meters without a model are not shown.

  • Meter name: free text field that searches the serial number or meter tag, case-insensitive. This filter does not search the address, the parent meter's serial number, channel ids or the model name.

In short, it is a navigation and filter section that allows you to quickly and efficiently refine and manage Meters.

The Meter Overview shows all meters in a table view, including key information about:

  • Identity and type of the meter

  • Current status (e.g., requested, installed, or deleted)

  • Type (Individual, Aggregated, Common, External)

  • Recent data receipt and measurement period

  • Installation address (if applicable)

  • Active issues or errors

  • Displays the meter's serial number and model (make and name).

  • The serial number is clickable and opens the meter detail page.

An orange warning icon will appear when the meter has one or more issues.

  • Hovering shows the total number of issues.

Actions

  • Open meter – Click on the serial number

  • Install meter – Changes status to Installed

  • Remove Meter – Changes status to Removed

  • Reconfigure – Applies a meter model to one or more selected meters, see Reconfiguring meters in bulk

  • Add meter reading – Updates Last Update and Measurements Until

  • Add submeter

  • Export to Excel

Not all actions are available for every user or meter status.

Reconfiguring meters in bulk

The Reconfigure action in the Meter Overview applies a meter model to several meters at once. This is useful when, for example, the reset date or the channel configuration of a model was corrected and you want to roll that correction out to all meters of that model.

  1. Filter the list, for example on Meter model, and select one or more meters. You can also select all meters in the current filter.

  2. Choose the Reconfigure action.

  3. Enter the reconfiguration date (required) and select one meter model (required).

  4. Confirm. The channels of the selected model are applied from the reconfiguration date to every selected meter, and each meter's model is updated.

Important: if the selected model has registers with a different service, unit of measure, direction, metering type, incrementation type or external reference than the current ones, the existing measurements of those registers are deleted - in a bulk action for every selected meter. Export the measurements before you run the bulk action and upload them again afterwards.

Good to know about the bulk action:

  • The dialog shows how many of the selected meters the action will actually be applied to.

  • There is no channel editor in the bulk action: the channels come entirely from the selected model. To adjust channels manually, reconfigure per meter from the meter detail page.

  • Models without channels are not offered in the list.

  • Both installed and uninstalled meters are eligible. Removed meters are not.

  • You can also reconfigure to the meters' current model, for example to apply an updated reset date.

If the new model has a different measurement frequency than the current model (hourly or daily), Zero Friction asks for an extra confirmation. Changing the measurement frequency can clean up historical measurements.

Behaviors & Logic

Status determination

  • The system searches the status history for a status that is currently active

    • Start date ≤ now < end date

  • If no active status exists, the most recent status will be used

This supports meters with status changes over time.

Meter detail page

When you click on a meter from the meter overview, you'll be taken to the meter's details page. This page offers extensive information and options for managing the selected meter.

In this view you have the option to manually add meter readings via the + Add meter reading button, reconfigure via the Reconfigure button and under the More button, you have a dropdown list with:

  • Add submeter

  • Create a dampening rule

  • Export

  • To delete

Under details you have different cards that each show you specific information about the Meter in question

  • Details

  • Registers

  • Status history

  • Rules for muting

  • Submeters

  • Activity

  • Comments

  • Custom properties
