Backup and recovery

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Introduction

Backup and recovery refers to technologies and practices for making periodic copies of data and applications to a separate, secondary environment and then using those copies to restore the data and applications (and the business operations on which they depend) in the event that the original data and applications are lost or damaged as a result of a power outage, cyberattack, human error, disaster, or other unplanned event.

Backup and recovery are an essential part of any company's disaster recovery strategy.
