With the EnergyGrip integration, Zero Friction automatically retrieves heat meter readings from the EnergyGrip platform and processes them in Zero Friction.
You do not need to copy readings manually: enter the correct environment and credentials once, and the system updates the data in the background.
The EnergyGrip integration consists of three parts:
Settings in Zero Friction: which environment you use (for example test or production) and which account EnergyGrip uses to log in.
Automatic synchronisation: periodic retrieval of meter readings for the meters in your environment that match the selected frequency (hourly or daily).
Supported data: currently heat energy, which the system can convert to your meter channel’s unit.
Currently, this integration only retrieves heat readings. The meter must have a register for heat with reading type: energy. The unit must be convertible to joule. Other services are not yet supported; if this is a requirement, please contact: [email protected]
What do you configure?
You manage the integration in Configuration ⚙️ ➡️ Integrations. There you specify:
Which environment of EnergyGrip your organisation uses: choose the same environment as in the EnergyGrip portal;
The username and password Zero Friction uses to log in (keep these secure and update them in Zero Friction if you change them in EnergyGrip).
⚠️ Note: The chosen environment must exactly match the EnergyGrip account you are using. If you use test credentials in a production environment (or vice versa), the connection will fail or no usable data will come in. Also check that your organisation's time zone in Zero Friction matches the way EnergyGrip reports times. If they do not match, timestamps cannot be aligned correctly and the run will be stopped to prevent incorrect values.
How does synchronisation work?
After saving, Zero Friction verifies that the credentials are correct. A fixed schedule then runs in the background: the system retrieves any missing hourly and daily readings up to the current moment, as far as they are available in EnergyGrip.
Per run, only meters are included that exist in Zero Friction, have a matching active channel for that date, and are recognised in EnergyGrip based on their serial number.
If no new measurement points are found for a run, no import file is created: this is normal when there is no data yet or when nothing new has arrived.
It is important to know that this integration works differently from, for example, the Fortes or Brunata WMS API integration. With this integration, data is only retrieved for meters that already exist in Zero Friction. If a meter is not in Zero Friction (Device ID = meter number in Zero Friction), no reading will be linked to it.
Problem | Solution |
The connection shows as disconnected or no new data is coming in. | Check the username, password and environment. Update the password in Zero Friction if you changed it in EnergyGrip. If you also cannot log in to the EnergyGrip portal with the same credentials, resolve that first. |
No readings are being imported even though I see data in EnergyGrip. | Check that the serial number of the meter in Zero Friction exactly matches EnergyGrip, and that the channel is active for that date. Ask your administrator to confirm that the integration is enabled for your organisation. |
The run reports a problem with the time zone or timestamps. | Have your organisation's time zone in Zero Friction checked and aligned with how EnergyGrip returns the times. If in doubt, contact support so we can take a look. |
How often is data retrieved?
The integration runs on a fixed hourly schedule in the background. Exact timing may vary by environment; new hourly and daily values are updated as soon as they are available in EnergyGrip.
Which meters are included?
All meters in your environment that meet the channel conditions (hourly or daily) and whose serial number matches what EnergyGrip returns.
Can I switch between test and production?
Yes, by changing the environment in the settings and saving again. Always use the corresponding credentials for that environment.
