Stripe Onboarding

Stripe onboarding is handled by Zero Friction. Once you connect in our application, you'll be redirected to Stripe hosted onboarding.

  • Once your Zero Friction setup is complete, some company information will be pre-populated:

    • Company name

    • Business address

    • Company phone number

    • VAT number

  • Further on in the validation process the following information needs to be filled in:

Verification requirements

Verification requirements for new accounts vary depending on:

  • Country where the account is registered

  • Desired capabilities (e.g. accept payments, payouts)

  • Business type (individual, corporation, non-profit, government agency)

  • Corporate structure (private company, public company, partnership)

  • Service agreement type with Stripe

  • Risk level

Required information for companies

For a company you typically need to collect the following information:

Company information:

  • Company name

  • Legal entity type

  • Tax ID number (VAT number in Belgium)

  • Merchant Category Code (MCC)

  • Business address

  • Website URL

Company Representative:

  • Full name

  • Date of birth

  • Citizen service number/national register number

  • Job title

  • Address

  • Phone number

  • Email address

Owners/Beneficial Owners: For individuals who own 25% or more of the company:

  • Personal data (name, date of birth, citizen service number)

  • Ownership percentage

  • Position within the company

Validation process

Stripe performs several verifications:

  1. Identity Verification - Checking government documents against public and private databases

  2. Fraud Control - Comparison with databases of known fraudsters and criminals

  3. Address Validation - Verification of entered addresses

  4. Company Registration - Checking whether the company is registered with the correct authorities
