The Communications - Preferences page controls how Zero Friction automatically sends documents and messages to clients. Here you can configure global communication settings, such as enabling or disabling automatic communication, secure testing via test mode, and email sending settings.
You can find this configuration via Configuration → Communication → Settings → Preferences.
These settings are crucial for:
the correct sending of invoices, reminders and notifications
safe testing without reaching customers
reliable email delivery via domain authentication
What does this part show?
The Preferences page consists of three main parts:
Language settings
Communication preferences
Email settings
All settings are displayed in clear cards with a title, a brief explanation, and input fields. Changes are applied after saving.
Language settings
What does this component regulate?
Here you manage which languages are supported for customer communication and which language is used by default.
Functionality
Overview of all supported languages
Indication of the standard language
Ability to add or remove languages
The default language is used when:
a customer has no explicit language preference
a document or template is not available in another language
Changes will apply immediately to new communications.
Communication preferences
What does this component regulate?
This is the central switching point for automatic customer communication and test mode.
Enable automatic customer communication
Enabled
Invoices, reminders and notifications are sent automatically
The configured templates and channels (email, SMS, post) are used
Customer-specific communication preferences remain respected
Disabled
No automatic messages are sent
Manual transmission remains possible

Test mode (Sandbox)
Test mode allows you to securely test communications without contacting customers.
Operation
Enable Automatic Customer Communication
Enable Test Mode
Enter a test email address (required)
Optional: Enter a test phone number for SMS
All communications will then be redirected to these test receivers.

➡️ All invoices and reminders go to the test address, not to customers.
Test mode always requires a test email address. A phone number is optional.

This field will only be visible after successful domain verification.

This can be a different domain than the sender address.
Behaviors & Logic

Existing or already sent communications will not be modified.
Why don't I see the sender email field?
Because the domain has not yet been verified.
Can I activate test mode without an email address?
No, a test email address is required.
Can I use another domain as a sender?
Only if that domain is verified first.
What if my domain is already registered?
Each domain can only be associated with one organization. Please contact support.
Does test mode affect existing messages?
No, only new communications after activation.
Can I disable communication per customer?
